Looks allright fo me, tested with AveDesk, Styler and Dexpot running and working fine.
If you don't want to spent money for TopDesk, this might be worth a try.
No installation needed! Just unzip in a folder of your choice...
I was a bit noisy, that's why I tried it - if I go for effects, I'd still go for CompizFusion. Too bad there's no Windows version or a Photoshop one for Ubuntu...
