300-page iPhone bills

A tree and a box. That's what AT&T needs to send many of its iPhone customers their monthly bill which not only details every call made and received, but also logs every use of the Internet, including updating of the built-in applications and e-mail.

Blogger Justin Ezarik was one of the first to spread this news through a video she posted on her blog and on

, showing her flip through her 300+ page bill which came in a thick USPS package.

In other words, if you use your iPhone's capabilities to the fullest, you'll pay :P by having to read a novel.

yea, i saw this vid too. That's pretty terrible, since Apple said they're trying to be more environment friendly.

Like she said, use eBilling =

AT&T free msg: We are simplifying your paper bill, removing itemized detail. To view all detail go to att.com/mywireless. Still need full paper bill? call 611."

Sent on August 22.

All I think the bill should have is just records of calls. No need to know that I transferred 20KB of data on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 2:32 AM...

@BapeStar: Wouldn't this be AT&T's fault, not Apple, for sending the bills at that size?

Can anyone fault them for not being thorough enough?

I like paper billing. Though, they should have a rough bill, probably a standard 3-5 page bill. Then if you want a more detailed bill, call, email or snail mail for it (at no charge). The information that they keep on you should be made available, but you shouldn't be swamped like that.

Edit: Well, it looks like it's going to be fixed (see post before mine by Ertai).

Save those trees and use e-billing. :)

300 pages? That's crazy, that's all I got to say.

What does being with Sprint have to do with detailed billing?

EVERY phone provider offers it... including Sprint.

Just ask for e-billing and be done with it.

I get my personal AT&T bill online. No paper what so ever.

Not AT&T's fault.. it's the consumers fault for asking for a paper bill in the mail.

I have to get a paper bill from Verizon for work purposes. That thing is huge!

At least 40 pages every month.

We're required to keep a hard copy of all expenses for audit purposes.

Blame the IRS for that rule.
