MacBook display colors are too washed out
For some reason, I don't have Apple RGB on my MacBook. Beside Color LCD, I have Adobe RGB (1998), Generic RGB Profile and sRGB. Which one of those is most color accurate?

Also, with the glossy macbook screens, viewing angle is CRITICAL to make sure you get the right color. The colors will be too bright if you don't have the monitor tilted back enough. Try looking at the monitor dead-on.

It's already unchecked. Why don't I have Apple RGB? Is it only available on PPC Macs?
Mine's an intel mac, only 3 months old. I don't know, I'd peruse Apple's support forums and see if you can get some help there. Perhaps it's a hardware defect and AppleCare can take care of it for you if it's within the first 60 days of purchase or something. Good luck!

I don't think it's a hardware problem. Perhaps they forgot to put Apple RGB color profile on my MacBook.
I still want to know which profile is more color accurate of the ones I listed earlier. Apple needs to change the Color LCD profile to something better and more color accurate.
LOL... that's hilarious. It comes in a OS, "they" don't put things manually in each system. My best guess is that somehow Apple RGB profile got deleted in your system. Your best bet would be trying Apple support.Perhaps they forgot to put Apple RGB color profile on my MacBook.
If that was the case, then we would have seen thousands of users complaining the same thing. Try Apple support or Apple forums to find the way to restore your Apple RGB profile.Apple needs to change the Color LCD profile to something better and more color accurate.
Actually, after doing some testing I found that sRGB is the best out of the options I have, so I will use that. If anybody else has a nice color calibration file they want to share, please post it (Apple RGB included and I haven't found anything on Apple Forums about this).

I don't have the blue hue with Apple RGB on my MacBook and the colors don't turn yellow when looking at an angle (other profiles turned yellow when looked at an angle). I would say that Apple RGB is just perfect for my MacBook.

Let your eyes adjust to it. Switching from Color LCD to Apple RGB it will immediately look blue, but if you look at any guidelines for photo editing, and general ergonomics, a slightly cool color temperature is recommended. Apple RGB accomodates this.

Thanks for that advice. It did look surprisingly blue when I first switched to it, but I'm getting a little more used to it, and I hope it will eventually prove to be easier on my eyes.

Yep. I set it to Apple RGB last night, and now it looks great. I love it now.

It's already easier on my eyes. I like AppleRGB. I think it's the best color profile there is.
Well also it does depend on your display.
When I had a Macbook, sRGB color profile (which I've used on all previous macs) looked awful, I mean the colors were just waaaay off.
I always find the default color profile (Color LCD, iMac.....) very washed out.

sRGB was brighter for me than AppleRGB. People always say that PCs are darker than Macs (in standard display calibration) but I find it to be the opposite.
