Weather 'docklet' Problem In Mobydock .77

my weather docklet refuses to update. i have absoultely no idea why, either. well, it might have come as a result of my switching all the .pngs from the original mobydock versions to the Umicons versions. but i doubt it. i copied the config files into the new folder, and renamed it proper.

is anybody else having this problem? please say so if you are, it's pissing me off.

oh, and i'm running Norton Internet Security, but MobyDock is allowed to access the internet in an unrestricted way.

Moby, is there something else i have to permit in order for this to work?

TIA,

Felix

I have the same problem, and the only block I'm behind is a NAT firewall in a switch I run.

I think Pack has the same problem too, but I'm unsure about that.

yeah, i'm behind a router as well. however, Mobydock used to be okay with that... i just reformatted my comp, and it no longer works. :-/

someone, come to our rescue!

Works fine here....have you guys tried the changes to IE settings talked about in the Yz dock weather docklet thread?

#45683

sorry to resurrect this topic after so long, but my weather docklet still doesn't work. i've changed the settings as discussed in the Y'z dock weather thread, and no luck. now i'm at college, so i'm not behind a router, either.

somebody please help? Moby himself?

hi,

i am not that familiar with firewalls etc. but i use kerio personal firewall 4.0 and had to turn off web-filtering to get the weather-item working. as a test, turn off the firewall and turn options on one by one to see what might be the problem.

that's all i can say.

Well, just check your firewall logs. It will tell you blocked traffic, look for MobyDock, and it will show you what port it was on.

Then just make a rule allowing traffic through that port. Its simple.

Just to let you know the mail docklet for Mobydock is still working fine for me.

#51387

grr.... well, ObjectDock's mail docklet works fine. i don't use the mail thing, so i don't know if that works on this comp.

i might just have to switch to OD... garr, another dock-switch.

it's annoying.

#51433

What! Objetdock has a mail docklet???

#51436

This is the MobyDock forum. ;)

#51456

lol OD is a pos of sh## compared to moby dock switching to it because of a weather dock would be the last thing I'd do.

#51511

yeah, i like to have my docks hardware-rendered, but hey... having this weather thing sitting there staring at me without telling me what the weather is like.... it's tough.
