Unable to log in after installing FlyakiteOSX

Well, as I stated in my previous topic.. I had problems installing Fly A kite..

But I eventually got the 3.0 installer to work.

I did not install the boot screen by the way (But I do have a boot screen that I found on Osx-e)

After installing I rebooted my computer.

The login screen worked fine (The FAK one).

I rebooted again.

It reverted to my olde login screen..

So I reinstalled the login with FAKOSX installer, and rebooted.

Now my bootscreen comes up, but where the login should be.. Is nothing. I can't log on.

I tried the XP trick, by pressin Ctrl+Alt+delete x2, to no avail.

I then preceded to safe mode, it did the same thing, except now, it shows me my XP build information, and the words "Safe Mode" at the top and bottom.

I tried with command prompt...

But I still couldn't login.

I also used my XP Pro disk to attempt to repair.

I navigated to the FAKOSX folder... And looked for the uninstall app.

But apparently, you can't run EXE's from the repair disk.

I'm now having to use a Linux live CD just to try and fix this problem... Any suggestions?

i'm guessing that it either corrupted winlogon.exe or deleted it? maybe...

whatever the case is, try uninstalling FAK from Safe Mode, you can uninstall/run .exe's in safe mode. If that fails, try doing a system restore.

That isn't possible.

The "Same thing" I was referring to is the blank screen.

I have moved the logonui.exe file from the restore folder (C:WINDOWSFlyaKiteOSXRestore) to the system32 folder. Overwriting the FaKOSX one. But it didn't work either.

Is there no other way I can get to the uninstall?

huh? so it shows you your build information? what's the problem?

You know, when you use safe mode, it displays your build information at the top and bottom of the screen.

Thats all it displays.

I can't log on.

I guess repair mode from the XP disk, doesn't run the right system files to run exe's.

It says "Unrecognizable command" or "Bad command or file name".

Wasn't there an emergency repair method? It was on the FAQs on flyakite's website, but that's down, and I can't find a mirror. I know I quoted it somewhere, but I can't seem to find that either. I believe it's in a readme file that comes with FlyakiteOSX (which you obviously can't check now)...hopefully someone will help you out .

If your refering to the command, "BATCH RestoreFlyAKiteOSX.txt" it didn't work... I'm assuming it just recopies the files already downloaded.

Hmm, that was what I was referring to. The normal XP Repair Install doesn't work?
