Aqua-Soft ForumsWhat happened to the eMac? Why did they discontinued the eMac last year?
What Happened to the eMac?
Replaced by iMac.....it takes up a lot less table and it has an Intel processor. And, it now comes in brushed metal.
The eMac was a rebranded, low-cost G3 iMac sold only for the education market. Well, originally. For a short whiel, it was available to the general public. In early 2006, it was discontinued and then brought back again in the summer, finally being killed around September '06 in favor of the $999 entry-level iMac.
I think the eMac was a nice design.
it got fat so apple got rid of it. no one wants a huge CRT anymore, just look at the new imacs. they're thinner than the cinema displays
