That's what you get for running Linux and using a crappy camera.
Your camera only supports USB 1.1.
There are known issues with USB 1.1 devices in some Linux builds.
Do your homework... Google is your friend. 
But I bought this camera this year, how can it be USB 1.1?
well if you read the box pre-purchas you wouldnt be in this predicament.. usb1.1 's still kicking around for some reason, gotta keep your eyes open
No offense, but there are cell phones out there that take better pics than your camera.
You get what you pay for.
Yeah best thing to do is make sure you read the box and google consumer ratings on the product that usually tells you what your getting and getting into.

There must a way Ubuntu can recognize the camera, I am going to research a bit, if I cant use it, then I will just use Windows to download the pics from the camera.
Ok, this is serious, I have not found anything that helps me recognize the camera, I need help!

Its funny that such a great OS (Ubuntu) can not recognize a consumer camera, looks like i will have to boot into windows, thanks for the help.

Seriously, if you're into multimedia stuff (photos, musics, videos, cellphones...) you'd better get Windows or OSX. Linux is just too far behind when it comes to supporting 3rd party devices. Poor documentation and lack of support (from both developers and experienced users) make it even worse. As someone's said above, you get what you paid for, since you don't pay anything for Linux, don't expect too much of it...
