I can't install GIMP for Mac OS X. I don't have X11 I guess? I'm not sure. It says I don't but I thought I installed it. I tried again from the Mac OS X install disk.
I need help Installing GIMP for Mac OS X
Yes, to install and make running Gimp normaly, you need to install X11 environnement
.
Where can I get that?
You can get it here Version tracker
IMHO,
I'll be honest here and say that gimp is just plain fugly on OS X. For me it just doesn't integrate with it well. Also it doesn't run as smoothly as it should.
Maybe it was my iMac, I don't but I took it right back off and only use the Gimp on my PC now.
You can try it here (yes, french site but works very well) :

Click on "télécharger" ![]()
When I try and install it says "This system does not need this update"
Finally got it working, thanks!!! I made this transparent screen thing... It's awesome!!!
I finally got the hang of Gimp. Is there a way to add more filters and tools to Gimp? So then it would be more like Photoshop?
Save your money, Photoshop CS3 is well worth the dough. Plus, if you have a license for windows, it automatically carries over to Mac too! w00t!
Serious, for the price of an iPhone, you could have Photoshop ![]()
I Have Photoshop Elements 5.0 for Windows XP! So that means I could get it for free for Mac OS X?
