Pidl Shortcut...

I had a very strange thing happen today... I use AVE Desk for the vertical calendar, that is it..nothing else...

Today I took a screenshot, Pidl shortcut which was not running and not added by me added a shortcut to the desktop which showed the screenshot...like a thumbnail image..I thought no big deal..and went to the control panel and made sure that i deleted and closed all desklets related to the Pidl thing... I added more files to my desktop at that point...and noticed that Pidl started doing it again...

Since then I can not kill Pidl..anyone know what to do besides shredding the thing out of AVE Desks's Program File Folder? I would like to keep the calendar..

Hate starting threads but I did a search and found nothing concerning the particular matter

mybe you should check under "Modules" and see that the "Desktop Grabber" is disabled - it creates a new Pidl for every file on your desktop. (If I understood correctly what you mean)

Well I only have three modules listed unless it is not in the appropriate folder...

They are..

desktopmodule.dll

desktopinstaller.dll

automounter.dll

and they are in the pidl shortcuts folder..

I haven't seen the grabber...or possibly it is apart of the other modules, and the only option I have is to install one of them...nothing else works for modules..

EDIT: The grabber is actually the automounter.dll that is listed in the modules and I used the aveinstaller package to take it back out. At this point I believe it did the trick....

Thank You very much for your help..

Well I was wrong the Pidl thing keeps happening, cool add-on if I wa trying to use it but it seems to be out of control right now...any ideas?

sorry about that, when I said "check under Modules" I meant the Modules menu, not the folder :D

Put back the automounter.dll where it was, open the Avedesk control panel and go to ExtraModules. There you will find the active modules and -I suppose- the Desktop Grabber to disable.

Yeah and I also found another little issue i didn't think about...

I have both the Beta and the 1.3 versions of AVEDesk installed on my system...and I had to close one and start the beta release and disable it as well...

Sorry bout the confusion... am guessing they are sharing a file somewhere or a registry entry. Which would cause the Desklet to be turned on in the other application as well...I am sure that my issue is probably a special one being that most people only have one install of the program...

Thank You for all of your time and help..:-)
