Set brightness of color on screen

Hello there every one!, I wanted to know if there`s an application out there that makes the screen have more colors, like when you are playing a quicktime player video and quicktime allows to set the color to make it look better, from black and white to full colors, I want to do that with my desktop. but not like the settings from the Windows control panel.

Well, looks like both programs set resolutions, but the colors, as I said, I just want to change the amount of color, its like in TV, you hit the control button and you then go to the video options, in those options you will find contrast of colors or just colors, the more colors the more vidid the screen will look like, the less colors, it will look grey scale...

If you're using nVidia graphic card, it let you set desktop color saturation by it's nView control panel. I've not used ATi graphic card for ages now so I don't know if ATi drivers have similar feature.
