I have a GMA915 Graphic Card, not compatible for Aero 
, but it's okay. I can't watch WMV movies though. I always get green lines in Media Center or WMP when playing them. Sure I can watch it with VLC or others, but I'd like to use Media Center still. Any fixes?

Well my 2 cents would say the atrifacts are being caused due to hardware fracking up somewhere probley that shitty onboard video card you have. My advice check the dirvers(if it has any) or replace it.
I has having a simlair problem a few months ago turned out my power supply was the problem but the problem degraded fast and it got very annoying blue screens and atrifacts all over the place.

Yeah, a farty power supply can be to blame, or just lousy drivers.
The trick, though, is why it's just WMVs and why it only happens in WMP and Media Center. Well, I can tell you in case you don't know that Media Center doesn't play that stuff by itself. It calls on something in Windows to do the job within it's fences, so to say. Take a wild guess which app it calls. You say WMP? Yay, you're right. Therefore, a WMV bug in WMP can and will show its ugly face in Media Center, too. So I'd call it as something is corrupted in WMP. Or, WMP gives your video drivers the bird but only when you ask it to play a WMV. No matter how you cut it, it's something to do with WMP.
Now, tricky thing also is, that cycles right back around to what I said originally. WMP is a processor hog (especially in Vista with that copy protection crap thrown in no matter what you play back), and if your computer isn't getting the proper juice it needs to play back more intense files types like...DING!...WMVs, just that crap can occur.

have you tried installing the k-lite codec pack (full)? on XP it managed to make windows media player 10 to play almost any uncorrupted video file..although that wasn't what i wanted it to do. I'm not sure about vista and wmp11 but if you still want a try...

The problem is WMP / Media Center (same thing actually), uses Direct X acceleration for playback.
Your cheap ass video chip set just can't handle it.
Has nothing to do with Microsoft's ability to write a codec. :slant:
It has to do with the video cards ability to handle the Direct X acceleration in WMP.
You can disable this feature in WMP and it should resolve your playback issue.
Turn off Direct X acceleration for WMV file types in the Performance tab.
Just un-check the box.
i am also having problem with video file, when i start wma file , then the blue screen is
display, or nothing show in wma file.....
