New Techinque To Get Menus In Y'z Dock

It's a different method to get menus with Y'z dock, but using LiteStep. I don't know Litestep, isn't too heavy?

LiteStep is a windows shell replacement, you use litestep intead of explorer. The installation involves changing the way windows startup.

Using ShortPopUp.exe is a heck of a lot easier for a novice to get working submenus in any of the dock programs than using litestep and the associated !popup module

I agree shortpopup is a much simpler way of doing menus from the dock. Here's an example of mine:

Litestep menus look much better but I think people are missing the point here. A pop-up menu should query the contents of a folder automatically. If you have to list the contents and make links that is not the type of pop-up menu that is sought.

Unfortunately right now there are very little alternatives and ShortUpPopup is the best solution unless you don't mind making lists and updating those lists everytime you change the contents of a folder which is what you would do with Litestep.

Somebody posted a tutorial on Litestep which is very good and should be applauded for those efforts and for sharing that with all of us even if I'm not convinced by what Litestep offers in pop-up menus as a solution.

Ok, well I found it, does any one have any other tutorials on how to set it up, other then the one that comes with it?

I just copy the exe into whatever directory I want a menu for, make a shortcup for the exe on the dock and use the following parameters: -display 3 xp flat -makepretty -dieonmouseout -noshowhidden -iconsforfolders -sort 2
