when you validate your windows XP (genuine) what are the free downloads?
aside from IE7 and windows media player 11.
what are the benefits or what do you guys download?
i just happen to validate mine recently so i dont know what are the good things to download..

you validate windows to GET windows...
it unlocks a bunch of windows features (ie- dmremote)... you get updates... your not under a 'trail'... theirs not to much to download.. just head to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads and browse around for stuff...

From an administrative perspective I'd get the Resource Kit but, with MS buying SysInternals you already can get lot's of good tools without validation.
Experience and Educational Packs for instance require you to validate your copy of Windows.
Well several things can be downloaded from Microsoft Download Center only if your copy of Windows XP clears validation...Internet Explorer 7, Windows Defender, PDF converter plugin for Office 2007 etc..
Once you validate, you need an antivirus app and Updates,
