SkinStudio question

Hi all,

I was used the Samui 2.0 Blue theme with window blinds before that and i am curious about the button overlay effect, which is whenever mouse hover the button on a dialog box or start button, the shinning effect (see the picture below) will come out. I found out the shinning effect was another TGA file but I am having no success to find out how to pu them in together in skinstudio, if someone out there know about this, can point me to a tut or give me some suggestion. Thanks.

Sry for my poor english.

Not sure what you are asking. Are you trying to recreate the shining effect or are you trying to figure out how to make a tga file that will work in SkinStudio?

sry for confusing. Actually I am trying to recreate the effect for the theme i am using currently which didn't have such shinning effect. Thanks for the tut.

Copy the shining tga files from the Samui folder into the new theme folder and use to SkinsStudio to add the effect. You may need to look at the Samui skin setting to verify how the original author did the effect. Hope this helps.

Also: working with .png files is much easier than using the .tga files SkinStudio uses. You can set it in the options to convert from .tga to .png when you export the images from SkinStudio to a folder of your choice on your hard drive. Also, you can just import .png files directly into SkinStudio.

And the option you are looking for is in the button control called "button glow", look for it.

yup, i found out the "button glow" at Samui theme when expand the taskbar start butotn and system button tree, so i just export the feature as a gui widget and then import to the theme that i wish to modify, and yes, it works.

Thanks for all the reply :)
