Photoshop/imageready - Is There A Difference

I am a PS7 über n00b, from a visual point of view they look identical, pretty much the same options and such, but I was wondering, can someone please tell me what the difference between Photoshop and Image ready is?

Oh and what plugins you recommend I get and where from?

Well basically ImageReady is used for creating web content, i.e. animated gifs, rollovers, etc.. It is more of a companion app for Photoshop rather than a competitor. In fact, it used to be a part of Photoshop, but was made into a seperate app a year or 2 ago.

As far as plug-ins go, I recommend Flaming Pear. They have several excellent Plug-ins, some free, most are shareware and have a trial period. They can be downloaded here. Hope I was of some help!
