Is it possible to install OS X on a Vista machine without using Parallels/Dual Boot?

I currently have Vista on it and have been considering ditching it and switching to OS X. Having never installed two different operating systems on one computer, I was wondering if it is even possible with my specs:

(HP Pavilion Slimlines3100)

Intel Core 2 Duo 6320 1.87Ghz

2GB RAM

256MB nVidia GeForce 7500LE

160GB HD (73 gigs left)

Vista Ultimate

It also has a factory default recovery image on the HD (Vista Ultimate). This is the second reason I'm hesitant to switching ... I know I can burn the image onto a disc, but I still don't want to lose the partition (its only 8 gigs.) I assume the way to resolve this is to keep have Vista and OS X on the same computer, so that all I have to do is choose which OS to boot at startup.

Yup, but...

There are only two ways to install OSX 10.4.8 legal on your Windows computer:

1. Become an Apple developer

2. You can also buy an Intel Mac (I would recommend the Mac Pro!), install Windows XP on it using Apple’s Boot Camp and remove OSX completely, so that you have a legally bought osx86 licence. This method isn’t confirmed and some people say it’s illegal because the EULA says that you aren’t allowed to install OSX on non-Apple hardware.

This means that for most people it is ILLEGAL to install osx on their computer. If you aren’t an Apple developer, leave page site now. This site is in no way liable or responsible for the actions of its visitors.

You can't do it legally. There are sites that are dedicated to doing it, but aqua-soft has nothing to so with them and no members will tell you (or really, no members should be telling you!)

Coldwerturkey - probably remove that google phrase. You're pretty much telling him how he can do it. You will get banned or a warning for that.

Darlyn - If you really want to know how, don't come here. We don't support illegal activity. You're on your own as for finding a site that can tell you.

Woah . I hadn't the slightest idea that this was illegal. I simply assumed you could order a OS X on a DVD and install it.

About coldwerturkey: I will truly regret it if you get banned, you being a senior membeer and all. To any mods reading this, please do not blame him for anything; he was simply trying to help.

Um.... coldwerturkey is fine. You, however, aren't.
