Found this gem while looking for Mac-like app:

http://www.getlibra.com/

Runs on Windows XP/Vista. Looks really slick with the reflection on glass shelf.

Thanx for the link!

this is a great find!

Nice find! If only my real life was this organized, hehe.

#465780

Thanks for the link.

#465841

oh man this is great. much easier then trying to input everything myself..

#465846

I just love you, dude :D

The screenshot looks very promising. I have tested MediaMan for Windows, but it's too expensive for me.

#465847

very cool only thing I dont like is it not skinable and has a vista look to it.

#465893

the only thing skinnable is the background not the overall app...yet?

My only complaint is the IE control's but, can put up with it.

#465894

Yikes! Am I the only one to think that looks ugly and highly unorganized? Don't get me wrong, it's great that it's free but still... I might be a little biased though.

@ Sranshaft: It looks great on the screenshots, but after I've tested it, it is indeed a little bit ugly. But since this is in Development, I hope that it will get a better look.

Btw: Which VS are you using? Can you please give me a link? Or is this "real" Linux?

Which app are you using on the screenshot? Doesn't look like Libra...

Many thanks in advance! :)

@DZGH: The VS is Clearlooks Murrina - Earth. You can pick it up from here.

The program I'm using is one I'm developing at the moment - an update / redesign of my old program VideoShelf - called movieClerk. It's currently in closed beta; I have 2 people helping me test it.

As for Libra, it needs one hell of a serious makeover...and yes, it is quite buggy as well. I wish all the luck for the developers.

Some more screenshots of movieClerk:

@ Sranshaft: Thanks for the link to the VS :)

Your movieClerk program looks very promising. I would love to test that, too.

Do you know when you will release the final version?

Keep it up, your program looks very, very cool!

#465938

Not a problem DZGH. Glad it helps. Thanks a lot for the comments. I'm sorry to say I don't have a release date planned yet. When I do, I'll be sure to let everyone here know.

As for testing it out, if you're up for installing MS SQL Server Express and have .Net 2 Framework then I can send you a copy. All I ask is that you regularly let me know if you come across any bugs.

#465942

@ Sranshaft:

Installing MS SQL Server Express should be no problem and .NET 2 Framework is already installed. It would be an honour for me to test your new product. I will of course post bugs and suggestions to yo.

#465945

hey,

will the app you are developing be strictly for movies, or do you think it might extend to books and games as weel?

#465951

Can someone get for me the icon of the mac HD with the blue arrow that appears near download on the webpage? thanx:)

#465969

@rammass18: The program will be strictly for movies hence the name, movieClerk. ;)

#465971

Sranshaft, that is looking very Sexy.

Is the web cam/bar code reader going to be a function?

#465972

@SirSmiley: Thanks a lot for the comments! :D Didn't mean to hijack this thread. I'll be opening a new one eventually.

To answer your question, I'm working on adding barcode scanning, so yes, it will be a feature. At the moment, adding movies is accomplished either by manually inputting the info or by searching Amazon, DVD Empire, Video Universe or Wikipedia. I'm adding more as I go.

Would love to set up a plugin system for this sort of thing which I'm currently looking in to.
