System32

as far as windowsXP goes, theres a system folder.. and a system32 folder, which I assume stands for 32-bit.. and holds most of the operating files and such..

soo.. if the system runs off the system32 folder.. than.. what's the system folder for?

Is it for like.. 16.. 8, 4, 2, 2^1/2 bit systems?

do I need it?

I noticed that all my tweaked dll files revert back to norm when I'm using the 16bit color settings.. but it's not like anyone ever touches that setting, right?

Its not causing any problems or anything.. but I'm just curious..

compatibility. In earlier windows versions there was no system32 folder - if you install old programs you may find something in there. Anyway, it has nothing to do with the colour settings.

16bit: probably you tweaked the 24bit icons but not the lower quality versions.

aha.. you're right. I left the 16bit icon formats alone.
