Displaying the number of files on a PIDL shortcut

How do you make the pidl shortcut display the # of items in the folder it represents? is it possible?

I don't know what you've tried but I'll tell you what I do.

Open up the Desklet properties. Go to the Label tab, click sublabel (change your font if you like)

next click the Label Format tab. Chose your format, I've got %n Items. Click Apply, and the number of items should appear.

take a look at the list below (desklet properties, label format tab, sublabel), the 300 some %xx numbers and what they show/display. If for whatever reason it doesnt project the folder/file #'s (It couldnt display mine either), you could just type it out?
