Ico To Png

I need an app for getting a png out of an icon quickly, like a batch process or something. Axialis has one, but not for png, just image to ico, or mac to ico, but there is no ico to png. Help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

IconUtils will do ico to png conversion.

 Axialis Workshop have a ico to png export. It's easy use and very fast.

axialis? what I want to know is about a batch process or something, axialis will export all the icon sizes in png? or just the selected? Im gonna try iconutils.

How was your luck with iconutilities? I use Articons and Axialis. Between the both of those programs you can do just about anything with icons. Png to icon, icons to png, you name it. Although, I'm not sure about pngs to icons. Infact I would like to know how to do this. I have a bunch of pngs, (too man) and I would like to make 48x48 icons out of the. The problem is these pngs are 128x128 so when you shrink them they lose a bit of quality which really stinks! :)

I havent tried iconutilities yet, is because I want something that I grab a bunch of *.ico's and convert all of them to png, with one click, a batch process, axialis can, but only mac to xp icon, and graphics to ico. I dont believe youi loose quality by resizing them, unless your program is not that good. I make some resizes manually, in photoshop, and then create an icon, but axialis can make the resize automatially by a batch, check the help of axialis icon workshop for more info. I read the new release of axialis iconworkshop, will have batch of ico to png, but I hope it is released soon.

Oh thanks mmr for the tip! ;) I know what to do now! Just use Photoshop first and down size it to the exact pixel ratio I want, then save, and then use the png to icon converter. Thanks a bunch. ;)

I believe Marvilla's icon website has a script you can do that with :)

#4298

I found this app called icon to any, in ahasoft website, but since it is a demo, it wont allow me to convert a bunch of icons. Can iconutils convert all?

#4302

What do you mean script? :)

#4334

by script he means action, I have one, I press F2, and it resizes and save the icon in each size, then I open the icon program, and join all.

#4386

IcontoAny is part of IconUtils.

#4432

yeah, I noticed it, but I want to make a mass ico to png conversion. And the demo wont allow me to do so, only 7 and a time, and I plan to make a lot, and only in png, the demo makes more formats plus the png.

#4458

Don't you just hate demos. Damn things.

#4462

This demo is a pain, it has a 30 day expiration, it limits to 7 icons at a time, and it forces you to use formats which are useless when you need png only! Darn, I think I might make this manually, lol.

Try XnView /www.xnview.com): it's a great pictures visualizer utility, completly free, it can show lots of different filr types (even some veeery old Amiga image files!), and is a good converter too... I use it to convert icons to pngs for the dock; I usually do one at a time, but since it has a batch converter built in, I believe it can also do what you're asking for...

#4484

Thanks Spacedog, I'm gonna give it a try.

#4488

spacedog, the program just converts to 32x32, I want 128x128 or all the sizes, Is there an option I must turn on?

#4491

As a matter of fact, after answering to your post I tried the batch feature myself. It works perfectly: only thing you have to consider is that it converts the FIRST image it finds in the icon selected; so you have to make sure it is the 128x128 one. If the icon structure is already in this way (Snow2 icons, for example, are) you have no problems; otherwise, you have to change the icon's images internal order. To do so I use Articons: it has a very useful and quick feature to do this (you just go to Tools\Sort Image format). After doing this, you're ready to convert! ;)

Hope this was useful, let me know :)
