Nothing To Do With Aqua What So Ever.

Just so everyone knows, Timan and I are starting a new forum that will suppliment and expand Aqua-Soft. We're calling this affiliated forum TwistedCPU, and it will be open to every computer user. That's right, Mac, Linux and Windows users all together in one big place. Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Anyhow, everyone here is invited.

The forum will not focus alot on skins, as some other technical forums do, although we will have a small skinning section in place for Windows, Linux and OSX themes. Mainly it will be tech talk, general discussion, photoshop games and tutorials for software and hardware.

We do want Mac and PC users alike to feel welcome, and perhaps TwistedCPU can be the supplimental site many of Aqua-Softs members have been looking for.

We will not, however, encourage or support the Aqua for Windows community at this site. This is the domain of Aqua-Soft and AquaXP, and we have no desire to cover this ground again, or 'steal' members (or any of that nonsense).

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, as we will be opening in a week or less.

well, here at aqua-soft we also have windows, linux and mac discussion, I don't think it'll be a disaster.

Actually, we are taking on mods. Here's how it works to apply for moderation on the site:

Email me at admin@twistedcpu.com, explaining why you would be a good mod. Submissions will be judged on spelling, structure and personality. If I like your reasons for modding a section, you will be put on the list.

The list will then be sent to my co-admin, Timan, who will mark off names of people he doesn't want to mod. Once I get his edited list back, I will choose from the remaining names.

If you are not chosen to mod from the start, reasons may include that I don't know you at all, you were beaten out by someone that has more experience, or I've already filled the position. In any of these cases your name will remain on the approved moderation list for future consideration as we expand the site. So don't worry if you aren't picked to mod for grand opening - its not personal and you've still got a strong chance of making it onto staff.

Hardware moderation is already filled. Open forums include:

General Discussion - community free talk area, every thread is pretty much offtopic

Multimedia - movies, music, and more

Systems- FILLED

Other Hardware - pda's, game consoles, ipods, etc...

Modification & Overclocking - FILLED

Buy, Sell or Trade - what the name says

Linux Chat - linux expert advice and discussion

OSX Talk and Advice - OSX advice and discussion

WindowsXP Discussion - WinXP advice & discussion

Windows 2003 - people experienced with 2003 need only apply

The Desktop - wallpapers, monthly desktop thread, misc theme stuff

Interface Skins - for WinXP, Linux & OSX

Icons - icons & pngs

Pixel Wars - photoshop tennis and other design games

Digital Discussion - advice, tutorials and discussion of digital graphic design

Website Creation and Showcase - as the name says

Site Help - site service desk, moderator should be familiar with virtua news and ibf

As a moderator you will have specific responsibilities to the site greater than just beating on members and editing posts. We ask that each moderator contact experts in their section for articles, tutorials (or create them yourself), to look for new content and news that applies to their section, and generally spread the word. Also, you may moderate at another site, unless you need to get permission from that sites admin to moderate with us. We dont want torn loyalties!

There will not be many rules at the site, although the few rules we have will be enforced with a simple and easy to understand warning system, making the board easy to moderate.

I'll be looking for the emails!

Seriously, as soon as we get everything finished on the site and a few articles up for content. That will hopefully be at the end of the week.
