Moving To OSX Essentials

In August, I'm getting a Macbook for school....what apps do people recommend I get/buy/use BESIDES Firefox, Shapeshifter, Candybar, Quicksilver and ThemePark?

And also, are there any other GUIkit creating applications BESIDES Themepark?

Nope. And according to ThemePark's website, it's free. That's how I got it. Direct from their website... free... no trial, no serials, nothing. You need ShapeShifter to apply the themes, and since they're now made by the same company, that's how they get their money.

I'd recommend purchasing iWork from Apple. It's definitely worth it.

Why Fireox on a mac? Even if you don't want Safari, Shiira or Opera are so much better than Firefox.

Firefox 3 is much better on Mac OS X, now that it uses both native Aqua widgets and Growl notifications. I do recommend Camino or OmniWeb, though. Also, for instant messenger, Adium is probably the best client there is, it can connect to all the most popular services and is very elegant and easy to customize.

For freewares just download ifreete or freewarepub kidifree they are french apps that have a big DB of freewares. Files descriptions are most of the times in french but also somtime in english.
