Avedesk Issue

Hey...having some probs. I'm using Avedesk 1.3, and when i try to start up the EXE file, nothing happens except for the CPU going up to 100% (which i find strange, because it doesn't feel like it). No little icon appears in the systray, and when i click on an avedesk install file (.aveinst) nothing happens, except for the Explorer window freezing. When i kill the AVEDESK.exe process everything is back to status quo.

So....any gurus know what's the dealio.

Try re-registering it using the Bat files. Unregister first, then re-register.

did that too. no luck.

Do you experience the same problems with AveDesk 2.0?

yea.

sorry, for the delayed response.

AveDesk 2.0 fixed the same issue I had.

Are any other programs having issues?

Is your disk & registry maintenance up to date?

I ask about your disk and registry because I just had a firewall problem then did a disk repair, defrag and solid registry cleaning/compacting then noticed I significant gain in performance overall.

nope, everything else is running tip top shape.

Try backing up all your files (I don't suppose you can save your current theme, since AveDesk won't appear), including those in C:Documents and SettingsAppleThinkApplication DataAveDesk, and then starting over.

Basically, once it's all backed up, click "Unregister.bat," then delete all the files in C:Program FilesAveDesk and the above-mentioned path, then download a fresh copy from somewhere online.

Once you unzip and register it, try starting from scratch. Don't restore your old theme...I bet one of the installed desklets was hanging up the program or something.

Good luck,
