GID script & G Toggle effects do not work with Avedesk2 ?

I know how to use this effectlets and have done so successfully with avedesk 1.3. Howver since i moved onto avedesk 2.0 beta usn these freezes avedesk and one has to ctrl+del+alt one's way out

Is this true or am i doing somehing incorrectly ? and is there a work around ?

uhm, I had no problems with them. Have you tried with the unregister.bat and register.bat scripts that should be somewhere in the Avedesk directory ?

I don't even have XP now, so I can't really check, sorry :slant:

I have now tries this on three Pcs with winxp and Avedesk 2.0 (beta)

Please would someone else confirm or refute the above behaviour of these effectl;ets with avedesk 2 and winXP

I really need help with this one guys

I figured out that the gid effectlet and the g-toggle effectlet do work with avedesk 2.0 (beta) BUT the reaction time is so delayed to hide/show the desklets. For example, to hide a group of two desklets (My computer and recycle bin) by using the calender as a trigger it takes a good 25 - 30 seconds to show or hide say after a mouse over or left click!

On the same PC avedesk 1.3 took less than a blink

i have tries this on 5 pcs and 2 laptops running winxp sp2 with the same drag using avedesk 2,0

I have tried various settings such as normal, destop always on top etc as well as various quality settings too

i have tried turning off the antivirus and even load the program into RAMDRIVE for speed - no difference in the delayed reaction time of show/hide

One more issue is while the toggle is doing its job nothing else can be done with avedesk indicating some heavyduty processing instructions going on in the avedesk engine

everything is updated and i hope this has nothing to do with any updates from MS

steps to reproduce

0. Use avedesk 1.3, register and add the two concerned desklets (GID and G-Toggle) to effects folder

1. Give recycle bin a GID of say 2

2. make my computer the trigger set to toggle the desklet carrying in 1 with say a left click

3. Check instant reaction to show or hide on left click

4. Now unzip avedesk preview 2.0 into the flkder and replace contents

5. Try again and you'll see what i mean

6. Do the same from scatch with avedesk but yu will get the same results

What on earth could be causing this behaviour on so many PCs and is there any workaround
