No guesses?
(windows I'm assuming) I understand the premus of what your looking for, but comon now; rightclick->View->[X]Show desktopicons takes like 2 maybe 3 seconds is a desklet really necessary?
Well... Now that you put it like that... I really didn't think of that!
I guess I wass to blinded by the app itself. Though, it still would be nice to hide/show them by clicking on a desklet. But what you said pretty much solves it.
I'll stick with it for now, but the question's still on the run... is it possible, the AveDesk way?
BTW, Thanks, Turkey for opening my mind! hehe

There's an attached program in one of the posts that may work. You can create a PidlShortcut to launch the program.
There's also a VBS script that may or may not work here. It also looks like there's a method here.
Hope this helps!

It's not a desklet, but I've been using a program called "Iconoid". It lets me show the icons on the desktop for a predetermined amount of time by just clicking anywhere on the desktop. It also lets you set the background of the text labels to transparent.
