Yes, there are "tools" to do this... Google is your friend.
That being said, most streaming audio is copy protected for a reason.
If the author wanted you to have it, they would have provided a convenient download link. 
Please don't ask for illegal software on the board or even in a PM.
Is it possible to have a program to take the sound off a video and save it as a .mp3? I dunno if this is legal or what... Excuse me if it isn't 
or.... take a 1/8" two sided male headphone jack, plug one into the out and one into the in mic, than just get a trail version of a recording software like MixCraft and hit record?

For a Mac, just use ffmpegx.

Most newer computers and semi-new sound cards have a handy dandy Stereo Mix in them. Plugging the sound into itself is so 2002. You just select that instead of Line In in the recorder, and it works the same but without the wire.

i agree with what Ali C. said. My soundcard came bundled with creative's extra crap, and i must say creative recorder has been the most useful of the lot, especially to record audio from games and videos.
To record from a video try SUPER (google it) and then select one of the audio formats on there. If its a stream you'll need an extra step to download it.
yeah that is exactly what i want to record audio from games
bcause i want to make sound effects.
they say you can record in your volume in the system tray but i actually dont know how to do it.
does it require mic? i really dont know anything when it comes to audio tech.
