Hey everybody.
I've been having some problems with my computer lately, a virus, undoubtibly. But now this is the straw that's about to break my back.
I ran McAffe VS and cleared it out. Now, I've restarted, logged in, but I've been re-directed to some default, template desktop.
I looked for my user profile in Documents and Settings, and it's still there, with everything intact, but I don't now how to log into that profile.
Can someone help me?
this happened to me when i first got this computer. It is something to do with mcaffee, my problem started when i uninstalled the trial version and tried installing norton. Instead i ended up with a screwed up account.
How many times have you attempted to log in? mine tended to work after uninstalling norton, removing all references to mcaffee and trying to log in about 5 times.
If that doesn't work, show all hidden files and try copying the data from your real account into the new crap yourname(2) account, including ntuser.dat and localsettings.
