So, You Get Exiled To A Desert Island...

..and they stipulate on arrival that although you have a power outlet and cable modem in the sand, you're only allowed one desktop theme for the rest of your stay, what theme do you think you could live with for the rest of your days?

Think carefully, your current flavour of the week might be just that.. a week long fad. I know this is difficult because I can't decide myself just yet. What theme is 'the one' that you could love and cherrish for what could potentially be a verry long time.

Hmmm, Panther or SStudio... or (gulp) windows classic :goku's job:

I would have to say Smoothstripes 3.0. The blue controls are beautiful, and the sunken look is what I was trying to achieve with my Quantum VS before I gave up and pushed it onto KoL. In my opinion its a very clean, functional look that matches quite alot of desktops and icon sets. I've been using it almost consistantly (with a small, 1/2 week excursion into Panther) since its release.

Well hmm....it wouldn't matter. Even if the theme is just a 'week-long fad', I would only be there a week anyways. Power outlet+cable modem= communication with the outside world. I dunno about you, but I sure as hell wouldn't just sit there and accept my fate- I'd email the Coast Guard with my location. ^_^

I'd have to say one of the versions of milk, but which i can't decide. And yay for communication with coast gaurds :)

Hey, the guys running this desert island aren't some bunch of monkeys.. all communication is closely monitored and restricted... you were exiled by the coastguard under court order from stardock and stylesoft.. after being threatened by apple. And the RIAA are watching your every move, just in case the 3 songs you took with you aren't proving enough stimulation.

I would want a theme to match my surroundings, AQUA ! :order:

#44465

Heh. Easy answer - Windows Classic.

I don't skin on my desktop. I like things just as they are; when I start skinning, important things (like the min/max/close buttonlets, for example) get moved around and replaced and colored... and I get confused.

If I *had* to skin, though, I'd go with H20. /me likes aqua.

Aqua I sez. -_-

#44492

Panther Graphite! :rule:

Wrong answers, all of you!

#44533

Aqua!! Aqua!! Aqua!! :order:

#44607

Jaguar :D

#44612

Luna

:naughty:

#44640

Ditto on the SmoothStripes 3.0 Blue.

#44656

I think I might go for the Panther as it's a fairly unobtrusive, easy on the eyes look. Smoothstripes woould probably work too.

#44664

I would have to say Panther cuz it looks smooth and fresh looking also I really like the Graphite Jaguar and Panther theme too!

Milk Redux

Aqua any day, after using Panther (the OS) for a while, I found way too many bugs, and formatted the hard-drive, and switched back to Jaguar. Its a much better OS, and I fell that the look is better as well. :D:D
