Why do we still to this day have the ugly 8/16-bit/windows'95/'98 setup icons in circulation, furthurmore the ugly 64px and 128px desktop icons. Why can't these devolpers spend the extra dime to get a nice setup icon, or 256+ desktop icon.
I love the new safari icon, goes right up to 256, but, its the first one I've ever seen come stanard. My hats off to apple,

I think with some older programs that have to work with older operating systems such as 98 and XP (eg- Object dock) and have to be compatible. The only way to do this is to restrict the icon size they use.
Programs/installers that have ugly icons will always, its not vista's fault, its more the program itself and the limitations of the older OS it was made for.
