Aqua-Soft Forumsi'm thinking of getting a new heatsink and was wondering what you all use. i've found some, like arkua, vantec, and dr. thermal, but then i just found some heatsink by speeze or spire or whatever it's called, and the reviews look pretty good, plus it's really cheap. too good to be true?

tip: if you got a paypal account and an ebay account, then you can try all the heatsinks ya want. some hs sell as low as 9 bucks ! (not cheapos either) and most of the times webmasters from pc hardware sites resell their reviewd products for cheap. i got a hold of P-flo water block for 30 bucks with shipping. even if you aint got an account, its neat to see what people are basically giving away. oh and another thing. ebay is great to build your own mac! (many MAC parts; motherboards, cpus, complete desktops; like a 266 mhz Beige G3 for around 50 to a hundred bucks with shipping!)

but i'm wondering which heatsinks people use and would recommend, so i'm not just buying random ones.

Ditto - thats a sweet HSF that actually cools the CPU.
I've been using the Thermaltake Volcano 7+ for about 4 months. It does a wonderful job on my athlon 2200+ w/ FSB@400mhz. It keeps it at a chilling 34c idle and 40c under full load. Though its a bit noisy when on high mode, I usually keep it on low and can barely hear it over my case fans. Only real disadvantage on the copper heatsinks is their heavy, but other than that they displace heat really well.
