Aqua-Soft ForumsYes, they look great, and they add a big deal of realism to emulating XP as OSX but the big problem is, it killed the functionality of alot of my programs. For example, i haven't been able to successfully use any of my CD burning tools which all crash due to something like Product Digital ID not matching. Also, my mail program (Eudora) doesn't work anymore after I installed Pack's system files. I think in the end, these system mods really aren't worth it, and I'm going back to good 'ol Windows XP. :rant: :rant: :rant: :rant: :rant:

Sometimes yes sometimes no, it really depends on you and how far your willing to go down the rabbit hole. I know a few things about customizing and I can tell you system replacement files are more for the intuitive customizer since it takes more time to apply them and such. Anyway nowadays I wouldnt do system files unless I had an extensive amout of icons etc, like OSX does. If it were up to me Id just change what can be changed back to in a minute or two, use basic monitor make up like msstyles, icons, and wallpapers. So **** it depends on you in the end I guess. Make any sense? Prolly not iunno..

when i mod a DLL and it's not good, the OS isnt working at all. not certain programs.
then i can know for sure its the dll i modded and put the original one back 
Well you installed it at your own discretion, no one to blame but yourself.
I've never heard of apps not running other than Microsoft installations, which occassionally check specific .dll sizes during installtion. Sounds to me that you've got bigger problems than some modified .dll's.
i dont think he's trying to blame anybody, he's just trying to say that modded system files make the OS not fully functional...
