I've gotten into 18A (Canadian rating... that's an "R" for you Americans. Interesting sidenote: "The Matrix" was rated "R" in the US and only 14A in Canada.) movies by myself, and I look like I'm 16 (because I am). It's not illegal for a person less than 13 to get into a PG-13 movie. It is, however, illegal for people under 18 to get into R movies without a parent/guardian (I think they might also allow an accompanying over 18 who isn't your parent, but I'm not sure).
My theater needs identification for movies. i once got into an argument and the person told me that all us adolescents look the same.
conclusion is i went in.

haha that's really wierd cause you can get in even if you're like 4 lol. nope and these days they dont check if you're 17 to go into R. If you're with a parent they don't care at all

My parents were usually okay with me doing stuff, as long as they knew about it.
St. Louis malls, on the other hand. We've had our share of youngster riots, so most ban anyone under the age of 18 unaccompanied by an adult anywhere in the mall anytime after 5PM or something equivalent. They card both the child and the parent for those.
You could ask your parents if they would like to come with you but just sit far, far away from them or just plea that you only have one chance in life to see this movie on the big screen and if they don't let you go, you'll never forgive them. hehe
Perhaps we (the AQ members), could set up a thread where we could all sign it saying we support you in going to see that movie and you could print it out and give it to them! I'm sure that'll work lol

but without going into too much detail;
if you think you're parents are strict, then try growing up as a gay teen. Its made a decent social life (and meeting other like-minded people) virtually impossible...
