iTunes temporary files in my music...

Hey,

Recently i have been running low on hard disk space and couldnt work out where it had all gone, so after looking around i found iTunes was using 13.5gig in temporary files, they were located in My Documents/My Music/iTunes folder, they werent mp3 files or anything, simply temp1 up to about temp 1000, at about 13 or so mb's each this was a huge amount of space, i deleted these files and iTunes had no negative effect, i.e. they arent needed.

But now every time i go back to this folder it is filling up with many more temporary files.

I have looked through the preferences in iTunes but could not see anything about temporary files. I have the most up to date version of iTunes if this helps at all.

plz plz plz help, it is really annoying as i have to keep deleting the files which is very annoying.

Hmm, I wonder if the fact that they're in the iTunes folder is just a coincidence--I've never heard anything about iTunes temporary files. Maybe something else is creating them?

I'm pretty sure it is iTunes as when it closes it takes a while saying, 'Saving iTunes Library'. And if i dont use itunes no files appear in this folder.

I think it may be the old saved library with a changed file name as kind of back up, but surely it should not save such a vast amount of files??

any other ideas?

I have Nod 32 AV on my comp, i guess this may be having a similar effect, cheers for the pointer tho!!

Hey. I have the same problem, and also NOD32 from ESET installed on my machine. Pretty annoying to manually delete the files. Anyone found a solution yet?

amon, add the folder to exception.

check in your preferances, make sure itunes isnt saving the music added to the libary to its libary folder (My Documents/My Music/iTunes folder) I accidently didnt know that was on and took my harddrive from 120gigs to 180gigs after an hour of adding music,
