You can make your own with CSS. That's what sgtrama did.

Awesome.

Timan, that new skin looks great. Will it be fluid-width?

#457548

@kjohnson... i think its just a mock meaning it is subject to change

It would require five characters worth of CSS changes to make it fluid ;)

#457559

I don't care if this site ever gets a leopard skin. This skin will be my choice if it comes out. That preview is really cool. Can't wait to see the finished product. :)

it needs to be a tad darker and the a lot of the text needs to be made with LucidaMacBold

#457858

AppleThink, I don't think I'll ever put pc fonts in the style sheet, reason being they are all AWFUL ports of the original font (could just be the lack of font smoothing). So unless the font is "Lucida Grande" it'll end up being Verdana :P

hmm...it seems fine for me. at 9px, my icon titles look exactly like a mac.

oh well, just a suggestion :P

It's basically using the Firefox ability to define custom CSS styles for pages (this will actually work for all Gecko-based browsers such as Camino).

You edit the userChrome.css file inside ~/Application Data/Firefox/.../chrome/ and alter the colors, etc.

sgtrama also modified the images Aqua-Soft uses, and uploaded those on his own server; you can reference those images in your new stylesheet, so the possibilities are pretty much unlimited.

Here's the code he used. It will probably help better than any explanation I can provide:

http://userstyles.org/style/show/725 (click "Show Code").

Hope this helps,

P.S: If your new style is good enough, Timan may offer to provide it as a forum skin.

it will never look exactly like os x's font smoothing, because (obviously) it's a pc and the font smoothing (and quality of font port) sucks :)

dont worry aqua-soft pretty hawt on a mac ;) esp. with text shadows

It's actually even easier than that. The style itself and the userstyles are both made for Stylish Firefox add-on. Once installed you just click the button to install the new style and it should work no problem.

I had actually almost finished converting this style into a legit forum theme with GIF images and everything when my XP installation died.

Since I've installed Vista, bought a MacBook Pro, and enrolled in school so I'm better equipped to alter it, I just don't have the time . =

I SHOULD get around to doing it before the summer is over (I have summer classes, but I get a week off in July), especially since I know exactly what I need to do this time around.
