Multiple Monitors iMac

Hi All, before you all tell me to search, this isnt your usual multi monitor question, I have just got myself a nice new Apartment and a plasma screen tv(with VGA input). I shall be having the iMAC in the bedroom but the tv will be in the lounge, What I want to know is, would I be able to see the whole display on the tv in the lounge, if I wanted to and then if I get banished to the bedroom by my girlfriend because she wants to watch tv, use it in the bedroom too. I will be using a VGA extention cable, Mini DVI to VGA Cable and a Blueooth keyboard and Mouse.

Is this possible, let me know(and how to) please, any replies will be much appreciated.

I see a mini-DVI port on the back of my iMac, so I'm assuming that if you got a mini-DVI-to-VGA cable, it'd work.
