oooooh.....fancy!

I read what u said about the members page NC (in the discussion section of the main page)

hmm.... should i continue this here or on the discussion page?.... sorry i dont mean to complicate things by now posting here.

Anyway, I see your point about people feeling 'left out' if we were to create a page on members of aquasoft.

But what if we were to create a page, where ANY member can be added (even by themselves).

I'm thinking that there would be too little webspace for this to be achievable? (I know nothing about how wikis work).

I dont know entirely how it would work, but...

If the most important sections came first (eg- Admin, Moderators then programmers, skinners, general members etc...) and instead of having the member descriptions on that page, simply have thier username link to the individual member's page.

The section headings, and certain sections could be made uneditable to ensure that noobs dont VANDALISE ...OR start writing that they're moderators etc...

I like the idea, because-for example, I have created two skins for itunes. With this idea, I could list myself under 'skinners' and sub section 'iTunes'. Then upon clicking my name, you would be directed to a page that shows my two itunes skins and where to download them...

Same of course goes for ALL members.

anyway.... hope i've not rambled to much.... it is a cool idea though, dont u reckon?...

@Levi

Well if you limit the editing of the page to only the member whose page it is, then i guess it's just a more customisable profile, which might be ok.

@NC

So will the wiki become the front page? Or what's happening with that?

And i think it would be useful to be able to upload images. Could certainly make it look a lot better and break up all that text.

If you look at the wiki now and click on your username, you'll see it just redirects to your vBulletin userpage. We can change that, so that each user can have their own page to edit.

I suppose then we can make a master page with things like Levi's "skinners --> iTunes" section, and then just have a link to Levi's profile. That would probably work better. I'll discuss it with Timan.

The wiki won't become the front page...we've got plans for that too! I'll see what we can do about uploading images. I'm just wondering, do you have experience with Wikipedia?

Sounds plausible. I guess it'll be up to the user themselves if they want to be added to this 'directory'.

Nice. Though it involves news posting, count me out... once was enough :P

I have some experience with the wiki, but really, it's not all that complicated. This plugin for VB is quite nifty though :D And come on... let us have a crack at the Main Page... ;) I have nothing but free time at the moment so that's why i have time for this :)

I don't see my badge yet, Timan ;)

#457038

Couldn't we just combine all the Apple hardware into one Apple Hardware wiki? Or would that make things a little complicated to read?

#457182

Hey, I made two whole articles single-handedly...

And I agree with Ertai on the Hardware articles.

EDIT: Three.

#457189

Its a wiki though, does it matter if its one page or not? I'm still learning this thing so ha.

#457191

Argh, where's my badge? :mad::P

#457234

Haha "Wiki Masta", funny :P

EDIT: Sh*t, i'm one. :P

EDIT: Shoot, i'm one. :P

Pwnt ;) You're one of us now :D

#457265

Would you all quit making me itch? :P

#457274

I added a page (how-to) some days ago. It's still not linked anywhere. :( did I do something wrong?

#464077

Do you have a link to the page? Then I can try and figure out what's wrong...

#464112

Sorry for not answering quickly, my connection was temporarily jolted by my ISP. This page, http://www.aqua-soft.org/wiki/index.php?title=Opera_Skinning It is listed in the "recent changes" section. But never got to be linked anywhere.

#464501

I went ahead and added your page to the Main Page.

#464511

...But I think it's in the wrong section. It's specifically on getting an Opera to Safari makeover, not an in general skinning article. Could you correct that? :)

#464634

How about now?

#464645

Yeah, all right now. Though, I feel it should be in the How-Tos section :P

#464660

Hmm... I'll probably group it in that section once we have more specific how-to posts.

#464754

Hi, I'd like to become a Wiki Masta. i've already contributed/edited 10 small articles in the wiki. If i can help more, i'm here to serve you. Thanx

#465211

We're glad you have such an interest in the Wiki :) Keep contributing!
