Yes. Cite:

For Windows XP users, a new skinning format called UIS0 is being made that is designed to make it much much easier to get into skinning. Another new feature -- explorer backgrounds can now be skinned. Users will also be able to have skins randomly chosen on boot up. Subtle new effects are being added such as animated toolbar backgrounds and much more.
It would also appear that it will have some support for Windows 2000, as well. Cite:
The next-generation version of DesktopX is in development. Users of both Windows XP and Windows Vista can take heart at the new features (Windows 2000 users too for that matter). The ObjectBar and DesktopX teams have been integrated together so expect to see DesktopX 4.0 start to have some ObjectBar-like features (menu controls in particular) along with a lot of new features to make it easier to create custom desktops as well as gadgets.

They've essentially said, without actually saying it, that Object Desktop 2000 will support Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Home/Professional/Media Center and the various flavors of Windows Vista. :) I just updated my Object Desktop account a little over a month ago.

@ kjohnson, how do you read "aswell with blur" for XP out of the quote you cite? It would be nice to have that capability on XP but I'd like to have more solid info to go by before attributing WB6 that capability on XP.

Okay, well maybe not with the blur...but it will work on XP, nonetheless. :)

I will have an update soon about the blurring effects.

No, that's not entirely correct. The part that mentions Windows 2000 is referencing DesktopX 4. As far as compatibility with Windows 2000 and other components, I would have to check on that.

hmm.. whats the big deal about this blur thing ?

What about WindowFX ? Anyone know if Stardock is planning on making anything to add some effects to vista, maybe change minimization effects and the like...

#457105

Yeah if they make windowFx compatible with vista would be sick... I just recently got a new desktop running vista now.... I bought WB5.5, Iconpackager, and Objectdock they work nice :). The draw back on Iconpackager is not to many Vista compatible icon packages :(. Any info you could get on windowFX would be great IslandDog.....

#457148

StyleVista will essentially be the Vista version of WindowFX. I don't have much detail on it yet, or recent screenshots, but I will update with more information as I find out.

:)
