I was wondering, who uses DHTML, or even designs in plain-old HTML anymore? It seems like more and more people are transitioning to XHTML...but a lot of designers are still caught up in table-based designs...its annoying..maybe some motivation would help...
No DHTML here, but I do use a mix of tables, DIV's and some good old fashioned HTML.
If a sites code works and it works efficiently, I see no reason to change it.
Sometimes using the latest "thing" is not always the best for what you need to get done.
I'm all about keeping it simple.
I still use plain Old HTML, DIVs combined with tables.... it helps me keep my creations compatible across major browsers and give me more degree of workability. Things are not so much fun these days with so many browsers and platforms floating around. I use DHTML as when it's required but it's not top of my list.

the web is constantly moving, but the "creating websites for dummies" books aren't. these outdated books are sending the web back by promoting old technologies. the average joe doesn't care or know about web standards, so they pick up books like these.
that said, i use (x)html and css where i can. tables if i absolutely have to..
I feel that the web needs to be more standards compliant and more accessible, I'm tired of hearing stories and encountering problems where accessibility is the issue. And the crazy thing is...one does not need to read the entire W3C website in order to participate and make a difference with making websites more accessible and standard compliant...
