Mind Gnumming Decision

OK I just bought the sims superstar, and it wont run! My Computer more than meets the recomended system requirements. I think it might be because Windows uses mor RAM than it should, I just did a re-format today! I went into Ms-Config and took out all the startup values. It never did this in Windows 98! I wanna play the Sims so bad!

What OS do you recomend?

1. Windows 98 SE

2. Windows 2000 Pro

@contra: I re-formatted to NTFS! I don't pirate anymore, it's never fealt better!

Well I doubt it's the RAM, infact I'm more than willing to bet that it's because maxis can't code for sh*t their games are consistently coded at a substandard level patch your copy of the sims up to the latest level and ask EA or Maxis for help on getting it to run.

@ Contra: I can get Windows 98 SE running on 98% free recources... are you sure? I have both the system restore and the win2000 sitting in front of me.

Seince we are talking a modern NT operating system, which file system do you suggest?

:rip: My dear Fat-32. :cry:

@bambam: I can't deny that! Every Maxis game i have played is always slow, then i whip out my MSFS2002 game and its all good! :hippi:

Hee... I thought it was an add-on pack at first also. But why would an add-on fail if the main game worked?

You do know there are a ton of work arounds to get sims working on XP and there is another issue here that maxis are just lousy at their jobs when the sims online came out a friend of mine rushed out to buy it and it didn't work on her brand new just bought sony desktop system. She had only had that for 2 days and it was running off a default install how's that for crappy and sloppy work by maxis? We updated the drivers and found a workaround but the simple fact is I know for certain that a HUGE userbase were totally unable to play sims online because of purely sloppy work by maxis.
