More like 4$ at monoprice.com, hdmi is a digital connection so you're gonna get the same exact picture from a cheap cable and one of those over priced monster ones.
Funny you should say Monster. That's the only type of cable I will ever buy. 
And, uh, no. I don't care if all HDMI's are the same mine MUST have "super gold-plated connectorz wiz heavy, triple-threaded insulation, yo. And don' forget it!"
I buy Psyclone for the video games, though.
Actually, cheaper HDMI cables do give less quality in their images, the higher priced ones are double and triple shielded, which improves the signal quality a lot, especially when you run a HD reciever and a power conditioner ETC
Why not just use component, saves money and bypasses the DRM. From my experience, the picture quality is the same.

well, i may just have sensitive eyes, but i can definitely tell the difference between component and hdmi. i've got both component and hdmi on my set, and have a/b'ed them. component is definitely not bad, but you lose quite a bit of definition and color detail. hdmi is truly superior. plus, you get yummy drm!
