[Help] Get Rid Of The Boring Popup Waring Message?

I replaced my system files with iceman's awesome files according to his instruction. So far, it wroks well. But almost every 5 minutes, it will pop up the warning message of system files protection that says "you replace your system files with some others, pls insert the SP1 CD to restore it". everytime I click the cancel, but after a while it will pop up once again. it is so boring, who can teach me how to get rid of it? Is it only me who get such a problem?

Help! any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thx. :rule:

Windows 2000 has a nifty feature called Windows File Protection that is intended to keep your system out of "DLL Hell." It does this by preventing certain system files, such as .dll's from being overwritten. If, for whatever reason, you decide that you want this feature turned off, you can do this with the following Registry key:

Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Name: SFCDisable

Data Type: REG_DWORD

Value: FFFFFF9D

The above value will disable Windows File Protection. The default (enabled) is 0. Always use caution and frequent backups when editing the Registry.

ok. I edited the regedit, now the boring popup warn gone with the wind. forever.

thank you. do i need to reenable it through set it back to 0 after replace the system file?

that regkey disabled windows file protection, which makes a note of the system files and makes sure they're ok. in a sense, it's a good feature.

a safe way of replacing system files is using replacer. get it here

if you set it back to 0 it will see that you have replaced a system file.

and the popup windows will come back.

BTW.. windows XP is built on 2000 (so most things in the registry are identical)
