HEROES...finally (spoiler alert!)

Yeah and people in turbans suddenly speak the queen's English.

You oughta come here and give it a listen :o

was that a goodness gracious me reference? :) Notice how its nice and stretched for you just the way you like it :P

They didnt make a fuse about it they were in japan! they speak japanese! In inda it was based around a university and a genetisist who wrote a world wide (worlds first laungue being english) book on genetics. a-durh.

as thehundrethone has pointed out, not everyone was part of the university. I can accept the geneticist with an american accent because he lived there for a while (although where the hell his son, [and wife] picked up a british one i don't know). I know what an indian who has recently come from india to america sounds like, and they definitely do not sound that way, even the bollywood superstars :)

it's also interesting how the actor portraying hiro is able to switch from an american accent to a japanese one so well. Finally, I don't mean this to turn into a discussion about this, i just was making a point, not really fair how we have to read japanese subtitles (even if commander sulu uses them) and indians don't get the proper coverage :D

Hiro speaks english with no accent in person (saw him on Leno) the transition in the show from stronge accent to barly none is a 5year work in progress within the show (present Hiro vs. future Hiro)

#454191

Statistically there's more Japenes viewers than idia'ins viewers, -adapting to their audiences

True, still, if you remember The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, or even Van Wilder. :o

(don't know the word for people of India, cant be Indians?)

And why not? The "native Indians" were only called so because Columbus discovered the wrong continent! :P

was that a goodness gracious me reference? Notice how its nice and stretched for you just the way you like it

You really kill me sometimes! LMAO :D

not really fair how we have to read japanese subtitles

You can read Japanese?! What the hell are you complaining about then? :o

#454220

You gotta realise its easier for deaf peope to know whats going on with Hiro atleast they now whats going but the rest they wouldn't have a clue what the hell was going on.

P.S. Sorry if i have offended any deaf people, makes you feel better im an aussie and we invented the bionic ear for you.

#454256

^ Erm I doubt that's the reason they use the subtitles. He's Japanese, he would talk in Japanese with his family/friends; unless they didn't know the language. We almost always revert to our native tongue in familiarity.

So has season 2 started in the US? The last episode I happened to chance upon involved Hiro's father tearing up the painting.

#454300

Season two has not started. What you saw was a mid-season break (there were two). The second mid-season break ended last week. We have 4 more episodes for season 1 left, then it won't return until the fall starting season two.

Greatest Hits

Season 3, Episode 25

Air date: May 16, 2007

Jack devises a plan to get rid of the Others for good; Sayid finds a flaw in the Others' system.

For the 10+ Million people in North American watching Lost.. Anyone suprised at John Locke being shot?

#456606

^ It's episode 21 :o

And yes, I'm hella surprised with that last episode. Although I thought something like that might happen, I didn't imagine that Jacob was (at least to Locke?) something somewhat real. And Locke getting shot, well, it wasn't that surprising, Ben would have wanted him out of the way because of all the attention he was getting. I doubt he's going to die, I think he was shot in the place where there's no kidney :P

I can't wait for 21! (I'm not in NA ;) )

#456609

ah very good I never thought about the kidney.. Let me rephrase; I wasnt suprised that Ben shot him. Just the fact a lead supporting character was shot and presentably dead. 10+ million was the only number I could find, know the world wide figures?

#456611

Get your silly Lost talk out of my Heroes thread!

And for those of you that don't know, Heroes: Origins will start after season one ends. It will be a series of one shot episodes that center on a new hero each week until the new season of the mother program Heroes starts (right now only 6 are ordered, but if it's successful, they'll continue to have no breaks or reruns of Heroes). At the end the viewers can vote for a new character to be added to the show, based on how well we like the story or character.

#456667

This is the best series of all time ;)

#456673

i dont see whats so appealing about hero's, the plot for it or atleast from what i understand is tedious and lame, a new character with new powers is frequently introduced and its its just lame.

#456696

^ Thats what I thought too. Until I borrowed the tapes (yes, tapes) from my friend. Now I'm hooked. I'm still on Episode 12, but I'll catch up in time for Episode 23.

#456711

I saw Claire saving some guy bearded guy with a power similar to Nathan (?) - that burning the place down thingy. And HRG is somewhat good now? With that mind reader man helping him or summat. That would be pretty close to the end of season 1 right?

#456835

Ted is the radiation guy.

Nathan's power is to absorb other people's power. Before, he only thought it was momentarily, but he learned (from Claude, a guy who can turn invisible) that if he returns his mind to when he absorbed it, he can use the power well after he came in contact with it. His power is the same (at the very least, similar) to Sylar. But Sylar needs a see how it works for him to absorb it (hence the slicing off the top of their heads to get to their brain). Which could also explain why when Sylar gets absorbs someone's power, he can control it immediately, while Nathan becomes unstable.

HRG is back and forth. Pretty much whatever he has to do to keep Claire safe decides whether he's good or bad. Mr Linderman and Sylar are the true enemies. Or perhaps, he could just be the foe of a greater evil. We don't know. HRG helped Matt (the mind reader) escape form imprisonment, so they kinda are working together now.

The season ends this coming Monday. You are either 2 or 3 episodes behind current from what I remember.

#456842

OK so is Sylar the person that locked HRG into that room that HRG thought he was in? Linderman is the guy who shot Ted right? Time for some wikipedia methinks.

2-3 episodes behind is not that bad. At least they're airing clost behind the US.

Lost S3 starts August here. :o (I'm not the type to wait that long.)

#456845

BOOMKA !

Simply Hiro.

(Season already ends :'( , I've heard that Seasons will be like stories, we might see other chars, but Sylar has signed for the second season, so it seems that we will see season 1 events with another point of view, wait & see.)

#457006

Nathan's power is to absorb other people's power.

I thought that was Peter's power. Nathan is flying man.

#457014

I thought that was Peter's power. Nathan is flying man.

Peter... Nathan. Same difference.

Yeah, that popped into my head last night (that's a different story... <.< ).

Yes, Peter can absorb, Nathan can only fly.

#457015

"Follow the white rabit" "Easter eggs"

Sorry to talk about Lost again guys, but Lost...Heros...PrisonBreak, all this and last years biggets hits. (along with others like House;))

Anyways did anyone notice the ties in Lost This episod? Like; all the women in the hatch were "The pregnet women who died" Bens lying! Why? I think he wants to keep avid comtrol of the population using a fear factor. Also when Charlie broke up the attack between the girl and the "bad guy" that is the girl that Sayid loves and has been after..

These character ties have been in Lost nearly every episod since the begining.

These ties have also been in Hero. It seems everyone is conected almost by blood.

It'll be intrusting seeing how and what it all means. In both shows.

#457039

Would you stop spoiling it for those who haven't seen it yet?! :x

#457074

hahaha sorry mate
