A Few Problems..

I got FlyAKiteOSX a few days ago. And I love it, I think it is great : ) There are a few problems that I have been having with it though. With searchspy, I only had it for the first day I got FAKOSX because when I tried to use it to search, nothing would happen, it wouldn't give me any results or anything. Was I supposed to wait a while or something, if anyone knows the solution, let me know, also, when I used to put my computer in safe mode, SeachSpy would give me about 20 warning windows, and I would have to hold down on enter to make them go away. So, I ended up uninstalling the feature. Also, when I minimize things, they go to the RK Dock which is great, but sometimes, the name will end up in the toolbar if I am into something else, and if I try to click the name of it on the toolbar, it makes a new black box on the dock, and when you click the black box, the name then comes back on the toolbar. Also, right clicking a minimized object on the RK Dock and clicking close, does not work.

Besides these minor issues, things have been going great so far.

Searchspy uses Google Desktop Search's indexing process. Do you have that on your pc? I myself don't use GDS and Searchspy and prefer to use Macsearch (http://landvermesser.tripod.com/MacSearch.html) which uses a small app called Locate (comes bundled) for indexing. It's not very complicated but serves the basic purpose of emulating spotlight and provideing real time searching. Try that if you want or get GDS..

Thanks for the solution to searchspy. I downloaded and got the one you recommended. But when I click on the icon in the tray, It just keeps indexing every time I try to search. Does it take some time before you can search or anything like this. Also, mine does not look the same as the picture provided by the programs website. I am also using the 'blue' skin for it also, so I think it should look the same way. Also, it seems my icon is in the wrong spot on mine also. I have added some pictures, the one from the website, and a picture of my screen. Also, when I click the item in startup, to start to program, or when I right click and click 'reload' it opens up a window in my RK launcher, which opens up into a window. (There are pictures showing this also), I usually just close the window. I hope I am doing this right. Any help would be great.

There were some reported problems with SearchSpy that are consistent with the errors you described. Search the forums--I believe it's all in the main SearchSpy thread.
