They are illegal to install on any computer other than your own, so use wisely.
I'd caution you to use these wisely. I honestly don't see a valid point for using them. If you want to protect your family, get an internet security package. If you want to find out your boss' password, ask him. Just watch out. That's all I'm going to say.

Actually, I believe its illegal to use a keylogging program without a user's permission, even if it's your own computer. Basically, all users have to be notified that their actions are being monitored.

I use a keylogger while working on dev projects. that way all my code is saved and uploaded to a remote server, just incase I have trouble with my pc, or hd crashes. Got to be careful though, some keyloggers are known for actuall sending the data off to the creators...so you could be sending your passwords and accounts info to some stranger for criminal uses.....blazing tools perfect keylogger is what I use...its nice.

Anyone using YOUR personal computer has NO expectation of privacy.
That has already been settled in the court system years ago.
And corporate entities can use keyloggers as well for systems that are supposed to be used for business purposes only. They must be notified, but the user's permission is not required.

Hey man, I'd definitely use ActualKeylogger. I did a few years ago exactly what you plan to do, and found out that my brother was FRICKIN LOOKING UP PR0N5 ON MY COMPUTER when I was away. I started locking my computer real quick.

however, the question was if there is a good, safe keylogger that doesnt send info anywhere?
