Profiles Switcher - XP

Ever since I’ve had my PC it’s been set up with multi profiles, mine & my wife, but I’ve always hated the way windows expects you switch profiles.

All this time I’ve been looking for a better way to switch between these profiles but unable to find anything.

I’d like to be able just press one or two keys or shortcut and that’s it.

I do believe that there is a something like this on a Mac, but I’ve never came across anything like this for Windows.

Does anyone know of anything like this and can you point me towards it.

It comes with Mac OS X, a feature dubbed "Fast User-Switching". It shows a cube effect, going between profiles. I'm telling you this to show it's not a separate app on Mac... so don't get your hopes up?

I could see something like this for Windows, though: a program that manipulates loginui.exe to switch over.

To be honest dreadnaut I didn't know about that one, but it only take me back to the logon screen. I was hoping for something that would bypass this and take you directly to the accounts that were already logged in, as alpha describes.

yeah, I know, there is no "direct" switching between user in windows, but a menu (the logon screen) to choose from is not that bad, if you need on keypress to get there. Win+L is so much better than Start/bla bla bla :D

Sorry for resurrecting this thread but I just stumbled upon this program just now. I haven't tested it but it looks like it's what you're after, sans the cool, 3D effects like Mac.
