Aqua-Soft ForumsI have a laptop and it is running xp and I was wondeirng if I could get my screen resolution higher than 1024x768? I have tried changing it under the setting somewhere but doesn't get any higher? Is there a way around this? or no?

only if you get a new graphics card, I had wanted to do that to a while back, Link, here,
try; Desktop Properties, Settings, Advanced, Monitor tab... Uncheck [Hide modes this monitor cannot display] checkbox
(theyre might be a res that wasnt displayed.)

yep, that's all you need, is a new graphics card. My 17" screen can display 23" resolutions with an ATI Radeon Express (Mobile).

That's integrated graphics. A graphics card is usually in a PCI slot, if it's attached to the motherboard then it's integrated.
Mine's intergrated too, along with the sound card
Even with graphic card it won't make much difference because LCD has their native resolution. Unless your LCD supports it you can't go beyond certain resolution.

Interesting... I don't think so though. The picture isn't displayed all at once.
Oh.. you mean it's like Panning Display (instead of showing the whole desktop in the screen) !!
If that is so, even then ATi is partially responsible. Because it's your LCD which supports panning the bigger resolution.

lol... sorry to break your heart, but I had sh**ty compaq once upton a time, which could do the same thing. At 1024 x 768 screen space use to max out. Resolution would go 1280 but in Panning mode. sooooo... you can grade *special* part !! 
lol. well, my super-nerdy graphic designer/photo manipulator friend says he's never heard of such a thing... and where to get it lol. so that's good enuf for me.
i gotta tell you tho, it's very nice with Lightroom.
