Some Miranda Questions

Well, I just decided to try out miranda, and im having a couple of issues with it. I find it a tad hard to use/skin, so this is probaly the problem.

1.)i cant get tabbed chatting enabled.

2.)I cant change my icons, either that or i dont know how. I followed a tutorial.

3.)I get these annoying prompts at the beginning, one of which says i fail to log into Yahoo.

4.)I cant seem to customize my conversation windows, or i dont understand how.

5.)There's no "load icons" in Contact List=>Row Icons

6.)How do i change/customize my emoticons? I.E. - iChat icons?

Im using V0.6.8 Unicode.

Who can help me !

i also have a question, how do you get the messages to popup like in every other IM app, I hate the tray thing. I never look at my tray so im always missing peoples messages. Can you please PM me if there is a solution to this. Thanks in advance...

To skin miranda you need a lot of plugins. Download:

tabstmm - for tabs

clist_modern - for skins

clist_nicer - for light skins

IcoLib - for changing icons

ieview - to change message message window style (very nice plugin)

TweakUI - to remove ugly borders

and smileyadd - for smileys

You will find all plugins on Miranda IMs site. Just search for them. Hope this will help little.

@AirForceOnes: download popup plus and you can install skinned popups for messages and other activities.

OK, i installed Smileyadd, but everytime i try to install Ertai88's iChat Emoticon set, it says there was an issue applying them. And i already installed IEView, i just dont really understand how to use it.

P.S. - Can someone point me to where i can find Leopard Miranda by Hornung/SkyNetX?

1. To use the emoticons: Go to options. Under Customize-> Smileys, click on Standard Smileys. Select the smiley file and hit apply.

2. I think that the skin is NFR. I'm trying to find it too.

In the message window or in the contact list?

Contact List: Options -> Contact List -> Row Items -> Avatar. Uncheck "Show avatar"

Message Window: Options _> Message Sessions -> Message Window -> General. Under "Show contact avatars" select Globally OFF

Are the emoticons not appearing in the message window? Dang, that happened to me a long time ago . I think I fixed it by getting the newest version of ieview or something.

well, when i try to install the emoticon package, i get an error.

Edit: I have a new problem; i recently applied a skin, and it changed the contact list font, and now i cant change it...so uh...*scratches head* any ideas?

Options -> Customize -> List Text.

Seriously AT, just look around the options menu. I know there's a bunch of settings there, but it's really not that hard to figure out if you play around with it.

thats exactly what i did, and i ****ed something up and i had to reinstall, thats why i followed the tutorial and asked for advice.

Edit: about the Leopard skin, i saw that evilmonkey was using it in one of his screenshots.

Edit2: Is it possible to change tabsrmm_icons.dll or should i use ResHack for that one?

everytime i install the dll (to enable skins) and restart it the program vanishes, how do i fix this ? iv reinstalled it a few times and tryed it but it still does the same thing, i might have to try trillian
