I'm having a case of...artist block? Themer's block?
I want make a theme... a pretty theme. Overall, I think i have the skills and the knowledge, but I just....can't get a idea. As strange as this sounds, does anyone have a minimalistic mockup to lend me? *If* [providing I have time] I get this finishedm it would be released for Linux.
Any ideas?
Psh, I never thought of making a thread for this "condition", but if I could get an idea every now and then I would release new icons every day....
why not try looking at existing themes, mixing and matching different pieces until you have an original idea of how to make a completely 'new' theme...
(im not encouraging ripping, just that its a good starting point, and once you've modded the resources enough and they are barely recognisable then you have a good theme)
LEvi - Clincal, and Area 04 have met...more than once. The thing is, each time I do that,I have to port the theme over to linux, and I often cannot release it.
EDIT: If I have a black theme that I is ALL my own, but has ring open close buttons, does that count as ipping? I don't think so, m=but I thought I'd check. I mean, area o4, bee 3, lots of themes have them, and I made these all on my own. Or will I get in heylove if I realease a theme with buttons inspired by area o4?

hmm.... I'd try modding the colours of the ring open close buttons... so long as all elements you use are unique they should be fine... using someones resources without modifying them (even if the ripped element is being used in a different theme) will cause problems. So just use a colour mod or change thier look slightly.
I have no idea bout linux themes so 'Clinical' and 'Area 04' mean little to me...
Nono. I PORTED those themes painstakingly over from windows. As in the Visual Styles. And I deiced against the rings, they just look...silly on a black theme in white.
