Does anyone know how, or can point me to a tutorial, that can show me how to clean up the lines from a sketch I scanned into my computer in photoshop?
I used a kind of rough pencil to draw it, but now the lines are really thick and grainy/incomplete in some parts. I want to smooth out the lines, and make them slightly thinner, but I have no tablet, and my freehand mouse skills aren't that great.
Now that I'm done rambling, can someone help me?
Did you use the default scanning options? Usually those result in a very high contrast after scanning. Try tweaking the settings before scanning it, reducing contrast, tweaking the gamma might also help. You need to have a good picture to start with first. There's only so much PS or any other can do..
Cleaning up scanned sketches is what the pen tool was made for. Not sure where you can find a tutorial, but it's rather easy to use. Would you mind posting the sketch so I could make some suggestions?
good options:
use the curves-tool in PS (ctrl + m) maybe in combination with levels and selective colors.
