ye vista is great but in ubuntu i cant install any thing and in both vista and ubunty i cant install my modem

in ubuntu, you need a Linux version of the app you want, and usually a sudo code to get it in terminal :

Ye i know i need a linux version i got a linux version of the nvidia display driver and i couldn't install it and i tryed to install emerald but it was some sort of tar file o_0 i dont know if it was the right file i downloaded lol.
you need to untar it or install it through the Package Installer. =. check out http://www.ubuntuforums.com
ask your questions there, and have them answered by Ubuntu guros. they helped me out so much already.

no i set up 3 extra partitions and installed xp on the first, ubuntu on another and then used the third for the swap thing. i thought it would have been harder than that at first hnce the reason i posted here.
